Celebrate the Christmas Season in the Town of Bowling Green

We invite you to celebrate the Christmas Season with us in the Town of Bowling Green on December 8, 2012 for  the Christmas Parade starting at 5:00 PM.  This year’s theme is “A Candy Christmas”.  You may register for the parade here on the website, or download the parade application attached at the bottom of this page for printing.

The Town of Bowling Green is excited to bring back an old tradition.  The Bowling Green Christmas Parade was first celebrated and sponsored by the town in the 1970s as an evening event.  Later in the 1980s through last year, the Parade was sponsored by other organizations singularly and in joint partnership with the Town and held as a daytime event.  This year the Town of Bowling Green will return as the sponsor and organizer of the parade and bring back the tradition of a nighttime parade.  This year’s parade theme is “A Candy Christmas”.  Start time for the parade is 5:00 PM.  For those wishing to provide an entry for the parade, the application is available at the bottom of this page, or you may register online.  The key date to remember to secure your place in the parade is November 30, 2012.  Please contact Kathy McVay or Laura Gifford in Town Hall at (804) 633-6212 or Whitney Watts at (540) 846-4890 for additional information.

If you are a business owner, please consider entering our window and store front contest.  Call the Town Business Office to register and let us know that you will be entering your business for a cash prize.  Windows and business fronts will be judged the night before the parade and winners will be announced with the parade winners from the stage in the Bowling Green Events Hall.
