Town of Bowling Green – Pop. 1,140 – Quaint Town located between Richmond and Fredericksburg seeks proven manager with strong experience in administrative and financial management with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The Town Manager serves at the pleasure of a 7-member Council elected to 4-year staggered terms. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a local government executive/administrator, assistant executive/administrator, or department head in an organization of comparable complexity is required. Minimum requirements for the position include a Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration, finance, planning, or related field; with a Master’s Degree preferred. Candidates are required to possess experience and understanding of growth management to include code administration and enforcement, finance and budget, economic development, intergovernmental relations, personnel including staff development, grant writing and grant administration, and maintaining positive lines of communication at all levels. Part-time Temporary position - $11.50/hr. Position involves performance of a variety of tasks requiring manual labor in the areas of building and property maintenance, street and sidewalk maintenance, leaf collection, grass cutting and other landscaping tasks, janitorial services, repair of Town facilities and properties. Superintendent of Public Works-
The Town of Bowling Green is seeking an experienced public works supervisor to oversee the operation and maintenance of a public water and sewer system with a 0.25mgd treatment plant. Person will also be responsible for maintenance of public buildings and grounds. Current staff includes four full-time, one part-time and one contract employee. Equipment operation a plus. Person must have, or be able to obtain within 12 months of employment a Class V Water Operator License and/or a Class II Sewer Operator License.
